Altitude training is now available at the Central Coast Leagues Club.

Simulated altitude training works by immersing the body in an oxygen reduced atmosphere. After a while training in this unusual environment can cause the body to adapt in an effort to more effectively utilise the lower oxygen in order to produce the energy needed to train.

As a result, our heart, lungs, muscles and blood oxygen flow become more efficient and when back in normal conditions, we can become fitter, faster, stronger, improve our endurance or simply speed up our health & weight loss goals.

Book a trial now and wee how this incredible training form.

The Building Renovation

Firstly, thank you for your patience while we revisited the renovation of your club. We considered it vital to ensure that the end result is something that both the Board and you, our Members, can be proud of. After a complete rework of the renovation plans, the revitalisation of your Club is about to commence.

Originally intended to commence in March 2016 your Directors decided to re-visit the original plans with a view to including additional works, if financially possible. The rework, commencing in February this year, increased the scope to ensure the entire ground floor would be renovated, with all gaming, bar and most food outlets on the one level.

As a result of the rework, the plans have now been totally revised and the ensuing works will enable us to completely  revamp the ground floor into a Member friendly area with additional dining and family friendly spaces together with new bars, TAB and reception areas. The concept is to provide a high quality venue that maintains all of the features that you love about your Club.

A project manager has been appointed to the project and it is now envisaged that work will commence in October 2016.

As we get closer to the start date, details of staging and switch over dates will be published online and within the Club for your information.

I am sure that you will be impressed with the end result.

Looking After You

Renovating the Club is just the first step. We are also reviewing all aspects of the Club’s operations and in particular how we look after you.

We are improving the quality of our products.

With the new bars being developed we will be able to offer a selection of premium and craft product’s along with our standard offerings.

Along with the quality food currently offered in our tenanted restaurants, the Club is improving the offering and choice, by taking back the operation of the Café and Bistro.  These areas will be completely refurbished during the renovation and accompanied by a state of the art kitchen. That will allow our Chefs the opportunity to serve you fine quality À La Carte meals as well as the usual club fare that you love

We are creating a service standard amongst our staff to keep you coming back again and again. Your needs are our top priority and our staff will be empowered to give you the best service on the Coast.

A review of our current promotions, entertainment and events is also underway.

Changes will not be made in isolation. The Club has already conducted several focus groups with Members, engaged secret shoppers, liaised with Members on the floor and obtained information through questionnaires.
At the end of the Building project we would hope that you are not just satisfied with the new premises, but also with the experience that you have when visiting your Club

Management

With the resignation of the General Manager, John Keene, the business has been maintained both while John was on leave and now, by the Acting General Manager, Peter Blacker.

Peter brings considerable club and business experience to the position.

The Board will be addressing a more permanent solution in the coming months.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank John for his contribution to the Club during his long term of employment.

The Bistro

You may have noticed changes in the Bistro and Café.  As a prelude to the renovations, the Club has taken back these operations from an external caterer.

Our internationally experienced Executive Chef, Ryan Smith has developed a fantastic menu that brings some class and quality to our offering.

Just under 8,000 patrons stopped by for a coffee and a bite to eat in our first month.

If you have not yet tried it, please come along and give it a go.  We are sure that you will be back.

And if you think that it is great, just wait until you see what is coming when we have a full kitchen to work with!

With a new premium blend of coffee and both fresh and premade sandwiches, hot and cold snacks and a delicious selection of cakes our new Café is sure to please.

The Board

At the commencement of the year our Chairman, James Ryan resigned due to business commitments.  I received the honour of being elected the fourth ever Chairman of the club.

I would take this opportunity to thank James for his contribution over a number of years.

Much time has been spent by your Board improving its governance standards with Directors attending mandatory education courses during the year, improving meeting procedures and ensuring robust decision making processes are in place. This will ensure directors have the knowledge and information necessary when planning the future of your club.

The Community

Your club continues to support the community in many ways, predominately through the Club Grants program, where some $560,000 has been donated to numerous varied community groups, including:

Coast Shelter;
Surf Life Saving Central Coast;
Mariners Youth Development Program;
The Central Coast Heart netball team;

We also provide facilities for use by the community during times of natural disaster.

Our internal Clubs are also an important part of our community engagements. The club provides funds and facilities for 17 internal clubs ranging from lawn bowls to ballroom dancing.

Check out the list of internal clubs here on our web site. We encourage you to join a club and become active in our community.

Renovation, minimal impact to you

We have spent a great deal of time working with the Builders on the staging of the work to ensure that throughout the construction process the impact on your experience is kept to a minimum. Commencement is expected in October with completion in March 2017.

Once completed I am sure that the new facilities will provide Members with a new and vibrant family friendly environment with which to enjoy club life.

Thank You

The Board would like to thank all of our Members for your ongoing support. Without this we would not be able to continue supporting the community and providing the friendly meeting place that exists for all Members.

See you in the club

Chairman
